Isn’t it funny how we use the weather to strike up a conversation with another person? Why is that? Is it because we are all weather buffs or closet meteorologists? It’s more likely the weather is just something we all can talk about, it’s easy, non-confrontational and not controversial, usually. It’s something that we all experience, and we find it mysterious at times.
Tuesday, I had the opportunity to speak to a new networking group, Debbie’s Marketing Connections. Great group, I must say! My topic was FORMing. FORMing is one of the many valuable skills I learned at Dani Johnson’s Seven Steps to Success Conference (which I highly recommend to everyone). FORMing is asking people where they are From, what they do for an Occupation, what they do for Recreation and then to deliver a Message.
You will be amazed at what you can learn about people and the relationships you can build, just by asking these questions. You never know who that person sitting next to you might be!
